Here we are again. Another day begins, another day ends. Tonight I said goodbye to some friends and family and made my way home. Where I find myself alone. With my thoughts. My fears. My doubts. Memories new & old. No true love to really speak of. Nothing and no one to hide behind. Just me. And once again, like so many other nights, I find solace in my oldest friend. Music. It’s never let me down. Always faithful, even when I have turned my back or been untrue, music is always waiting for me with open arms. It gets me thinking. Where are you guys? As you listen to this record. As you read this. I guess I’m wondering if you get those same feelings from this music. Open arms. Acceptance. Maybe even a hiding place. Maybe you’re going thru the same things we have. Maybe music is all it seems you have at times too. Everywhere we turn, someone is saying “it’s impossible” “you’ll never make it,” I swear. I thought that would stop once we got a record deal. Or had a hit. After 10 years in this business, it still seems to be the common sentiment of so many people. But then again maybe that’s just the world. 1st they told us we wouldn’t make it. Then they said we wouldn’t last. What will they say next? Well, there was someone else who did BELIEVE. All of YOU. You’re the ones who believed all along. You’re the ones who made us important. Who gave us this life. You’re the ones who helped me get my entire family out of the hole we were in. Who gave us a chance. Each one of you believing in us. Everyday. It’s a powerful thing I have witnessed and I won’t ever take it for granted. What this music, that you are all a part, has given me in my life. It’s not money, or trophies or fame. It’s a place to really belong. It’s self worth. To someone who has been made to feel worthless so many times. It’s a miracle, to a family that was hanging by a thread. So I hope when you play this record, and you hear some of these lyrics, that somewhere in there, you will have a moment with us. Where you feel just how grateful we are. And that you have the same faith in YOU. You can go anywhere. You can do anything. If you just believe it. No matter how small the town or how great the challenge. You’re listening to the PROOF.
